This historic residence on the slopes of Aspromonte has always been the nerve center of family farming and represents one of the greatest expressions of the rural heritage of the territory.

The centuries-old olive trees that surround the estate are silent spectators of the magical alternation of the seasons and the extraordinary biodiversity.

We wanted to maintain the authentic atmosphere of the estate, with its halls dominated by ancient vaults. At the “Tinello” you will find a full selection of produce, snacks and drinks, selected by chef Nino Rossi, to accompany the various moments of your day.

Take a stroll by the pool, go on a quick excursion to our pristine river, or take in the shadows and colors of the olive woods to make Casa Qafiz your home.

Casa Qafiz is a historic residence dating back to 1700, originally the summer home of the Ruffo family of Scilla and owned by the Rossi family since 1900.

Until the 1970s, it was the hub of the family’s agricultural activity, particularly in olive growing and oil production. In the 1990s, Gianni Rossi decided to restore and enhance the estate, giving it immense value for the family’s memory and the identity of the historic countryside of Santa Cristina d’Aspromonte.

Since the turn of the millennium, Nino Rossi, Gianni’s son, with the managerial support of his sister Antonella, has been the driving force behind the transition to a multifaceted hospitality experience, offering fine dining, a charming welcome, and continuous innovation.

The house is rich in materials and architecture of historical importance such as ancient bricks, grit floors, green stone of Delianuova, cross vaults and barrel vaults.  The ideal stage for Aspro Cocktail Bar and for the multifunctional area that we call “Tinello” where guests can find their refreshment throughout the day.

The estate is surrounded by ten hectares of olive grove, a panoramic hill, a relaxation area on the river, and small waterfalls.
